This 12 week class will provide students with a deeper understanding of diversity and cultural competence. Students will explore the characteristics of several library user groups that are considered traditionally underserved (e.g. older adults, people with disabilities). Students will learn strategies for delivering effective services to meet each population's information needs. Guest lectures will be provided by experienced LIS practitioners/researchers. The course will also offer opportunities for synchronous interactions.
