Class Description | The scope of the course is threefold:
1. Identify the key historical and current trends in scholarly communications and the development of significant new electronic product offerings in this area;
2. Provide frameworks for understanding the value propositions of these new developments for libraries as well as a means of evaluating these services;
3. An understanding of the underlying and changing business models being used to support the value creation in scholarly communications, particularly free and open access, and their outlook for viability and success.
