Class Description | Investigation of major contemporary issues within the information profession. Topic: the digital divide.
Recent research on the digital divide demonstrates a complex problem beyond the access to information and communication technology. For librarians interested in improving library practices and committed to social change, this course provides a unique opportunity to address an important issue facing the information society in the United States and internationally.
Course Prerequisites: Basic courses in 1) introduction to the information profession, 2) information retrieval, and 3) management.
