WISE On-Demand Pedagogy Workshop

WISE is now hosting a free, self-paced, on-demand training workshop for faculty and doctoral students in library and information science with little or no experience teaching online who wish to develop their skills in teaching online courses.

As the number of online LIS education programs grows, defining educational quality in this mode becomes an increasingly important task. WISE has developed a set of quality metrics outlined in the document, WISE: A Model for Quality Online Education in Library and Information Science (LIS) (pdf).  This document is divided into two key areas: course (C) and program (P). Schools interested in joining WISE submit the accompanying WISE Checklist (.doc) and items and information requested on the WISE Evidence of Quality Checklist (.doc) to the consortium for membership consideration.
