WISE Chicago Conference

Administrators from the WISE founding member schools (the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and potential member schools met in Chicago on October 28 and 29, 2004 to launch the membership of the WISE consortium.  Topics discussed included the logistics and benefits of participating in WISE, including increased numbers of courses available for students, greater diversity of courses, online quality metrics, and the increased pedagogical resources available to WISE members, such as online faculty training sessions and pedagogical workshops. 

 

Bruce Kingma, Associate Dean of the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University, gave the following PowerPoint presentation, which provides an overview of WISE, at the Chicago meeting:
