SLOAN-C 2004 ALN Conference
Administrators from the WISE founding member schools (the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University & the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) presented, "Connecting across campuses: Building sustainable models for online education through collaboration," November 13, 2004 at the 10th Sloan-C International Conference on Asynchronous Learning Networks (2004 ALN Conference), held in Orlando, Florida.
The session was designed to explore the costs and benefits of developing collaborative inter-institutional agreements for online education. Representatives from Syracuse and Illinois described the WISE consortium model, shared 'lessons learned' and offered participants the opportunity to consider the potential of this model.
Rae-Anne Montague, LEEP Coordinator at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, gave the following PowerPoint presentation, which gives an overview of the costs and benefits of participating in the WISE consortium, at the session:
