ALA Conference (Chicago)
WISE was introduced to the American Library Association community at the ALA 2005 Annual Conference, held in Chicago at the McCormick Place Convention Center, June 23-29, 2005. At Exhibit Booth #3844 were representatives from member schools, information on current course offerings and the latest WISE news! WISE member schools, Syracuse University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Pittsburgh, and University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, all had individual exhibit booths at the conference as well.

In addition, the WISE Workshops on Online Pedagogy entitled "Conversations on Learning & Teaching Online" were held on Monday, June 27, 2005 from 9:00am - 5:00pm at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center (450 North Cityfront Plaza Dr., Rooms 308 + 320). The schedule was as follows:
9:00am - 9:55am = Keynote Presentation: "On Becoming a Web Site" by Dr. Punya Mishra (Room 308)
10:00am - 12:00pm = Panel Discussion with LIS Online Teachers & Learners (Room 308)
1:00pm - 2:30pm = Breakout Groups: Subject-Specific Pedagogy (Room 320)
3:00pm - 5:00pm = Online Part-Time Faculty Development (Room 308)
The workshops were FREE & open to all ALA attendees.
