July 28, 2007
For Immediate Release
All students enrolled in a course through the Web-based Information Science Education Consortium (WISE) during the 2007 school year are invited to submit nominations for the WISE 2007 Excellence in Online Teaching Award. The award highlights outstanding WISE instructors and recognizes them for their dedication to quality online education.
If you would like to nominate an instructor, please e-mail support@wiseeducation.org with a brief statement on the best aspects of the instructor's teaching style, what you enjoyed most about the course and your interactions with the instructor, and any other information you wish to share.
Criteria for the nominees:
- Nominee has instructed one or more WISE course during the 2007 academic year, to include spring 2007, summer 2007, and fall 2007
- Nominee has demonstrated dedication to best practices in online education
- Nominee teaches at a school other than the home school at which the nominator is registered (i.e.: a student from Syracuse University may not nominate a faculty member from Syracuse University)
Nominations will be accepted through fall 2007. Recipients will be announced at the 2008 Association for Library and Information Science Education Conference in Philadelphia, PA. WISE will also host a pedagogical workshop during the conference, on Tuesday January 8, 2008, from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
